Kate Burgess has been a Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) since graduating in 2009. When she left the NHS after 11 years she was a Highly Specialist SLT. Since leaving the NHS, Kate has been working in her own independent practice: We Can CommuniKate Speech and Language Therapy.
Kate has experience working with children aged 0-11, though specialises in working in the Early Years. She has worked with thousands of families to develop each child’s communication skills to reach their potential. Kate has worked with a range of language delays and disorders, speech sound disorders, stammering, Autism and Down Syndrome.
Kate is passionate about sharing simple, actionable tips and strategies that every parent or caregiver can use that have a strong evidence base for developing children’s communication skills. Early Intervention is consistently found to have the best results for children and sometimes all it takes is for parents/caregivers to use these strategies in their everyday life for children to make great progress.
